The DSL Monster Scam

from the how-to-steal-money dept

A few weeks back we had a story about a DSL scam. This California company offered DSL service, took upfront payment, and never actually gave anyone DSL. Here’s an article with a lot more details about how the scam worked. The interesting thing to me, is that it appears the scam was really just run by the founder of the company. There were a number of employees at the company who believed it was a real company, while the founder was lying, bouncing checks, and stealing money. They’re still trying to track down the guy, who has completely disappeared.
