Wi-Fi in the UK

from the no-hotspots-for-you dept

Apparently commercial Wi-Fi hotspots in the UK are illegal. You aren’t allowed to use unlicensed spectrum for commercial purposes. You can set up a Wi-Fi access point for your own personal use, but you cannot resell that access. But the government has been advised to change its policy. Its nice to know that we’re ahead of Europe in some aspect of wireless service.
