Suing Online Posters

from the watch-out dept

An article at Wired about thin-skinned company execs suing online posters for saying bad things about them. The article basically makes it sound as though they can get away with these frivolous lawsuits that are completely designed to make people critical of their company shut up. There’s even a case of a guy who didn’t even realize there was a lawsuit against him and lost, in part, for not showing up (the company claims he was served by certified mail – he says he never got it). Anyway, I guess this means that I can sue all of you posting mean things about me. (Yes, that’s a joke. Laugh. No, stop getting angry. Laugh. Okay, that’s better.)
