Morpheus Users Locked Out

from the oops dept

For months the folks behind any of the FastTrack file trading networks (Kazaa, Morpheus and Grokster) have been saying that there’s no way to shut people out of their network. Once someone has the software, they’re in for good. It seems that might not be true. Suddenly today Morpheus users could not access the file trading network. Morpheus is blaming Kazaa for upgrading their software. However, this does seem to indicate that there are ways to shut off any FastTrack system if need be. Morpheus says they’ll be releasing a new software soon, which may include the ability to share files over Gnutella. It’s unclear if it will be strictly a Gnutella network, or both Gnutella and FastTrack.
