Anti-Globilization As A Video Game

from the good?--bad?--who-cares? dept

Last year we mentioned that a video game company was working on turning the WTO riots in Seattle into a video game. Salon now has an article about that video game (called “State of Emergency” – and it’s somewhat toned down from its original concept, due to post Sept. 11 moderation) that gets the opinion of a number of different people involved in the anti-globalization movement. It’s actually pretty amusing to read the various opinions. Some hate the game, noting that to buy it, you are supporting multi-national company Sony. Others think that it’s fine if it attracts more young anarchists into the movement. Some (thankfully) think it’s just a game.
