The End Of Software, Until It's Profitable For Us

Interesting. For a couple of years now, Salesforce.com has been promoting their hosted subscription model as the “death of software”. They even have a little graphic on their website with the word “software” in a red circle with a line through it. So… how is it that they’re suddenly selling a software product? That’s not clear. They’re just calling the product their “Offline Edition” and they’re very careful never to actually call it software. It appears that the death of software has been greatly exaggerated…
