eBay Hacker Case Goes From Weird To Weirder

from the maybe-he-should-go-for-the-insanity-defense dept

Early on Wednesday morning I saw the story about the 22 year-old alleged eBay hacker who asked to be sent back to jail (in order to return the $50,000 bail bond a friend put up for him) and to fire his highly acclaimed lawyer in favor of himself. A morning session with the judge and his lawyer failed to convince him to retain the layer. However, by the afternoon, for no clear reason, he changed his mind and wanted the lawyer back on his case. At the same time the FBI searched his house and has found that he’s probably been on the internet – despite probation rules saying he is not allowed to get online. The whole thing seems a bit wacky.
