Amazon Draws A Holiday Crowd

from the doing-just-fine dept

Now that the days of the “internet only” e-commerce site are considered dead and gone, isn’t it interesting that Amazon.com is getting an awful lot of traffic. Actually, their co-branded sites with Toys R Us and Target are also getting a ton of traffic, this holiday season – so overall they seem to be doing very well. There is still the question of how many people are just window shopping, but it does seem that Amazon is still holding its own as the e-commerce site to visit if you want to buy anything.

I bought from them this year

I made some holiday purchases from Amazon and others this year, mostly for out of town gift recipients. The prices are resonable and I can have them ship the goods to the recipients as well as gift wrap them.

Now before someone accuses me of being anti-social for shopping online, I have to say fighting the crowds at the malls is not my idea of a fun social occasion. Besides I have been to several holiday parties already and will be at a few more. I get together with the people I care about.

who says online retailers are “gone”?
I buy more shit than ever online
it is enmeshed into my way of life

the only thing gone are retailers run by overspending stupid idiots that never made any money, and had no concept of basic business fundameltals. . also gone are fake stocks for fake companies

the internet is a killer platform for commerce.
