Incredibly Strange Databases Online

from the well... dept

Not quite sure what to make of this article. Mostly it’s about strange databases you can find online that can be used for all sorts of datamining to learn how people think. What’s odd about it, is that, too me, I would consider the whole internet to be a sort of “strange” database that can be mined – so I’m not exactly sure how these “databases” are anything special. I guess, to some extent, they might be more focused. Though, she mentions Craigslist and Slashdot as databases worth mining – even though those are quite different than projects like the Random Access Memory open database she also talks about. So, while there might be a point in all of this, I’m not sure what it is.
