Mike Lohse writes “Disney’s 47 square mile Walt Disney World in Orlando uses an 802.11b network to do everything from authorize credit cards, track guests (yep, they’re tracking your every move), and serve as the park’s LAN. Pretty sweet! Go Disney. They say that security is a primary concern (with the additional credit card usage), so they employ 128 bit encryption.” Considering how notoriously weak 802.11b network security is, I wonder if this just means hackers will now have a new playground to try to break into. Of course, with Disney security, I imagine anyone who breaks out a laptop and starts typing away, anywhere near an access point will be magically picked up and thrown in the infamous Disney “hole” underground.
