HP Employee Messes Up Benchmarks

from the disgruntled-employees dept

Not quite sure how this got as far as it did, but an HP employee has been accused with purposely screwing up internal benchmarking tests to make HP’s Superdome servers look as though they didn’t perform as well as they actually did. It’s amazing what this guy went through just to make his employer look bad. HP said they spent over $1 million trying to fix the “problems” with the server, because it looked like it didn’t perform up to what they expected. They also believe they lost out on a number of sales, because they couldn’t prove that it beat the competition on many benchmarks.
