Follow The Tragedy Through Domain Registrations

from the quick-on-the-keyboard dept

Someone for Salon has tracked down a number of the different domains that were registered in the wake of the attacks on September 11. Amazingly, people started registering domains soon after the first plane hit the first tower, and followed all day after that. Some of the domains chosen reflect the events as they happened. So, for instance, the earliest registrations were for domains that had “crash” in them. Only later, did registrations start for “collapse”. It’s a fairly odd sign of the world we live in today.
