The World's Baddest Cyber Cops?

from the oh-please dept

Here’s an article about former FBI agent Charles Neal, who helped in led the team that helped to capture Mafiaboy for his “famous” DoS attacks. Part of that story tells about how Exodus turned the FBI agents away, since they didn’t have a subpoena – until Neal called up Exodus’ security chief and told him to just let them in. After all that, he left the FBI to set up his own computer crime fighting squad. Turns out, he decided to set up that squad at Exodus, helping their customers prevent hack attacks. Probably would have been smarter to set up an independent company, since Exodus is looking more and more like toast. Wouldn’t it be great if Exodus pulls a Northpoint, and just shuts everyones’ servers off with 24 hours notice?
