Forcing Wireless Carriers To Detail Dead Spots

from the wouldn't-that-be-nice dept

Plenty of people I know hate their cell phone provider. One of the biggest complaint is the unknown “dead spots” – especially when they occur some place where the person is quite often, such as their home or office. It’s even worse when you don’t find out about these dead spots until after you’ve done something silly like signed a one year contract. So, now some folks are working on legislation that will force wireless carriers to detail their dead spots. I can see how this would be useful… but I also know that dead spots change depending on lots of factors. When I first moved into the house I live in now I couldn’t get service unless I stood in the corner of the living room. However, now it’s fine. Of course, it might have helped that I complained like a madman.
