Even identical twins don’t have the same iris patterns. And an analysis of over 2 million eyes shows that an algorithm can turn an iris into a 2000 bit barcode that is nearly error-proof in recognizing people’s eyes. While it seems like a neat way to get through Heathrow airport, I can just imagine the uproar against iris registration given the revolt against NYTimes…
