Yahoo Doing Stuff They Already Do

from the have-I-been-living-in-the-future? dept

Two stories on News.com about things happening at Yahoo. However, both are confusing to me, because neither one is actually new. First they said that (oh my!) Yahoo has joined the crowd of moronic desperate content sites and is now serving up pop under ads to annoy you. That’s interesting, but I’ve been getting pop ups from Yahoo (at Yahoo Sports) for at least two weeks (and probably longer) already. Then they talk about how Yahoo is going to launch Yahoo PayDirect in the United States in a few months (basically it’s Yahoo’s PayPal copy). Problem is I’ve been using Yahoo PayDirect for months already, so I’m not clear what the excitement is.
