Hotmail Spam Filter Blocks Email From Yourself

from the oops dept

Apparently, Hotmail’s new spam filter works so well it will often think that email you send yourself is spam. This gets parituclarly annoying when you have the calendar service set to send you reminders, since those reminders appear to come from your own account and, thus, must be spam. Microsoft admits that it’s a little screwey, and promise they’ll get around to fixing it one of these days on their march towards taking over the world. I can’t wait until these sorts of glitches start showing up in .Net. It will be great when someone can’t cash a check, because Microsoft Passport has decided the check is fraudulent.
