Big Ads Are Effective

from the that's-good dept

A set of reports came out today looking at the effectiveness of the bigger ad units that many sites are now using. Turns out, not surprisingly, that they do a better job of building brand awareness. I think that’s a good thing. They didn’t look at pop up ads, which probably also increase brand awareness – but do so in a way that piss people off. I, personally, don’t mind the bigger ad units (within a page, not the pop ups) at all. If companies start realizing that the new big ad units are effective, then maybe they’ll ditch the annoying pop ups – but that’s probably just wishful thinking.
