Comcast Wants AT&T Broadband

from the if-you-don't-give-it,-we'll-take-it dept

Comcast has made an unsolicited offer to take over AT&T Broadband, which AT&T plans on fighting. Apparently the two companies had been talking about a deal for a while – since AT&T is spinning off AT&T Broadband anyway. However, the deal fell apart due to “social issues”, which could probably be translated as “ego issues”, which could be more accurately translated as: “Comcast told AT&T Chairman C. Michael Armstrong they would have no need for him after the deal was done”.
