The Air Isn't So Fair

from the oligopolies-rule dept

So, following on the recent launches of airline ticket powerhouses Hotwire and Orbitz, it turns out that the powers that be (airlines) don’t really want people to have transferrable tickets – and thus the idea for FairAir goes down the drain. Now, it definitely is an interesting idea, that could be useful for consumers – but if it was such a great idea wouldn’t airlines just allow people to transfer tickets in the first place? It sounds like the folks behind FairAir never did any actual market research before getting started to find out that most of the major airlines would laugh them out of their offices.
