Network Solutions Trying To Sabotage .biz

from the sneaky-bastards dept

The Register is suggesting that Network Solutions (who of course run the whole .com naming monopoly thing) is trying to sabotage their new .biz competition. See, you can try to reserve .biz addresses through Network Solutions, but at this point it’s really just a lottery system, and the company running it appears to be overwhelmed. So, to help make things worse, Network Solutions is encouraging people to try to register more applications for .biz names, since they say this will give you a better chance of getting your domain of choice. Network Solutions also makes it sound as though they’re going to dump all the registrations that came through them on NeuLevel (the company running .biz) on the very last day of the application process.
