Stan Lee Media Founder Indicted For Fraud

from the oops dept

Sometimes you just have to wonder what the hell people are thinking. One of the founders of the now bankrupt Stan Lee Media (not Stan Lee), has been indicted for stock fraud. He apparently hired some guys to write up a fake research report promoting the stock so it would go up. I have no clue why anyone would do this. First of all, the chances of getting caught are pretty high – and the penalties aren’t small. Second, I’m sure somewhere out there a so-called “legitimate” researcher would have recommended the stock at some point – and if they didn’t, then perhaps they shouldn’t have been in business in the first place. Whatever happened to building a strong business you believe in to make money? Now it’s all scams and cheating.
