Are Pen Based Computers Making A Comeback?
from the try-try-again dept
An Economist article that takes a look at the sudden return of pen-based computing. It’s been tried before, and failed, but now companies (including Microsoft) think they know what customers want. I definitely think they could be useful in some ways. If the technology was cheap enough, I would think that all laptops would work with touch sensitive screens. Then, if you make the screens tilt correctly – like some Sony’s and Sharp’s already do (or even make them detachable) then every laptop could also be a “tablet” when needed.

Er… Okay, thanks, but the point of the article is that of course it’s been done already. However, nobody bought them. The question is whether or not people will buy them this time. That’s why the article asks if they’re “making a comeback”.
