How To Blend E-Commerce With Traditional Retailing

from the case-study-time dept

An interesting article in the Economist about how Seven-Eleven Japan is working to use the internet to improve business. The first half of the article talks mainly about the proprietary computer Seven-Eleven Japan installed six years ago to improve efficiencies. Some wonder if they’d started the project a few years later if it would have been built on internet-based technologies. There’s some disagreement on that, but either way, they’re working on ways to build the internet into the system. I actually think it’s nice to see articles talking about ways to use the internet to actually make businesses work more efficiently.
