Can You Believe Market Research?

from the of-course-not! dept

Someone over at AllNetDevices suddenly realized that you can’t really trust all those market research reports that come out predicting ridiculous growth numbers for various industries (nowadays wireless seems to be the popular one). These guys make money by selling their reports. The people who buy the reports are companies betting their business models on the results of the report, so they want to hear good news, and the analysts give it to them. Of course, most people know that the reports are bullshit, but that doesn’t stop companies from paying money to add a sense of legitimacy to their business.
