Early Stage VC Funding Going Strong
from the everything-looks-great-from-down-here dept
With all the horror stories coming out about how it’s impossible for companies to raise venture capital any more, there’s a report from the bottom saying “things look great”. Early stage investors say they’re seeing much better offerings at much more reasonable valuations. This suggests that the entrepreneurs are still at it, coming up with good ideas, while many of the get-rich-quick folks have headed elsewhere. In general, this should indicate a fairly healthy situation. It’s also interesting that many later stage companies are heading back to early stage investors to try to raise more money (at lower valuations). Not surprisingly, many of the investors are passing on such deals.
