Forget Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality Is Where To Be

from the I-want-my-retinal-scanning-display dept

A good article in Red Herring outlining the basics of “augmented reality” systems. These are generally head mounted displays that overlay information on what you see in the world around you. Thus, they’re not “virtual” reality, but an “augmented” reality. People have been talking about this for a while, but it sounds like some companies are finally getting close to releasing some real products. As per usual, Techdirt is more than willing to be early adopter/reviewers for any products that anyone wants to send us.
