VC's Score Card

from the not-quite-having-a-cake-and-eating-it dept

Okay, so generally Venture capitalists have been doing pretty well on getting above average returns for their investors. During the past ten years they have beaten the average IPO increases in non venture backed firms. However, due to the recent over exuberance, they got caught out too and it turned out that the average decrease in an IPO’s stock price was more than that of a non venture capital backed firm’s in 2000. Oops… hopefully now everyone has learnt their lesson and we can now get back to the business of creating the future.
