Napsterizing B2B

from the b2p? dept

An interesting article about someone who’s trying to “Napsterize” B2B transactions. What he realized is that most businesses already have relationships with their suppliers and vendors. All the B2B marketplaces are failing because they’re actually making the process worse, and more confusing by ignoring all of those relationships. So, the new plan is to build tools that help make those already built relationships better by letting them make deals and work together directly over the internet. Technically, of course, this isn’t Napsterizing B2B at all. Maybe it’s more of “Aimsterizing” B2B, but that’s getting too picky. I still think it’s a good idea – and I think it’s the type of thing that Ray Ozzie and Groove are looking at also. Now let’s see if anyone actually uses any of these things.

“Napsterizing” B2B would be great: You could see all of your competitors’ business deals (and those from other industries as well) and pick and choose the ones you wanted. With a click of the mouse you’d get the exact same thing they did.

It’s the definition of perfect knowledge that defines the utopia of capitalism…
