Corporate Venturing Wants to Take the Lead

Apparently, the role of a corporate venture capital arm in these post bubble days is set to grow and become more central. They’re trying to cast off the “dumb” money image of the past. I don’t quite agree, as I know that corporations can be extremely slow to invest and make decisions – drastically slowing start-ups. So, the main reason to accept a corporate investment (now and in the future) is for strategic considerations – and not as a substitute for a top-tier venture capitalists.
