Year 2000 IPO Review

Here’s an article that reviews the the IPOs from the last year. Not surprisingly, a lot of them were pretty bad. All the good ones happened early in the year. The article suggests, however, that in the long run this is a better situation for the small investor. Even with the insane returns on IPOs in 1999, it was usually the small investor who was left holding the bag when things went bad. As the article says, “reality is your friend”.
