Readers Pay To Be Characters In Books

An auction in London let people bid on becoming characters in their favorite author’s next book. At first I thought it was a lame idea, and then I saw Nick Hornby’s name on the list, and I thought it actually would be pretty damn cool to be a character in a Nick Hornby book. Of course, I wouldn’t pay the ridiculous sums of money that some people paid. It’s also not clear if the characters will have anything to do with the real people, other than posess their names.
