LookThatUp Helps Impulse Buyers

from the by-being-a-pain? dept

Well, here’s one that shouldn’t last too long. A French company called LookThatUp is releasing a filter that will help you buy what you see in an online picture. Apparently, if you’re happily surfing along and see a picture of something that you might want to own, you can cut-n-paste that pic into LookThatUp. Then they’ll point you to their partner merchants who will gladly sell you the item. First off, I wonder how well this actually works? Will it really recognize that dress that an actress is wearing? Second, this actually sounds like quite a pain. I have no desire to cut-n-paste a picture into another website to see if I can buy it somewhere. Third, since it only points you to partner sites, how useful will it really be?
