The Tech Industry Is Out Of Ideas
from the that's-all-folks,-nothing-to-see-here,-go-on-home dept
USA Today is suggesting that the tech industry has stalled and there are no new really cool ideas left any more. They admit that this will surely change at some point. I think it’s laughable, though. There are definitely plenty of cool ideas still going on out there, and I seem to hear about more every day. Why is it that people outside the tech industry seem to think it’s shut down completely over the last few months?

That IS stupid
That is the stupidish collection of nouns and verbs I’ve ever laid eyes on. There are plenty of mega great ideas being incubated right now. The capital will become hungry for the next space inevitably, and probably sooner than you think. These ideas will then be in the public spotlight.
Stalled Tech Industry?
Not hardly, the tech industry has not stalled. It has slowed. This is not permenent. It is slowly recovering. I am not sure it will ever boom again quite like it did before, but it’s not going anywhere. I see two primal forces that will shape the IT industry in the near future. Microsoft’s .NET framework and the open source movement. I also see XML as the glue between these technologies. It is the one thing they have in common.
