Medical Uses of Virtual Reality
from the fun-with-goggles dept
For many many years people kept predicting that virtual reality would be “the next big thing”, but not much ever happened with it. Now it is finding a new life as a medical tool used by cognitive psychologists, clinicians, and therapists to help patients. They use it for different reasons – some to distract patients, others for research, and some to help patients confront fears. It is very interesting, however, to see how this technology is being used.
