Mayor Fights E-Commerce
from the holding-back-the-tide dept
The mayor of a small Illinois town outside of Chicago has decided that e-commerce is evil and is hurting the local sales tax the town collects from its outlet stores. So, the town has started an ad campaign trying to make people afraid of shopping online. It’s good to know we have such forward looking politicians getting involved in their communities. (Once again, I wish someone would perfect the sarcasm tag in HTML).

E-Commerce
The mall drove my hardware store out of business. They’re just getting back in spades, what they gave me twenty years ago. And besides, if an e-commerce server stops working, Fonzie can smack it and restart it, just like a jukebox!
