A New "Cure" for Diabetes
from the biomedical-research dept
Researchers believe they’ve come up with a possible cure for insulin dependent diabetes achieved by adding insulin producing cells from deceased patients. The idea makes sense but there are several problems such as the need for immunosuppression in patients and a small supply of these cells from deceased patients. The big pharma’s shouldn’t be too worried yet about losing the multi-billion dollar insulin market (unfortunately, for those with diabetes).
