Sony to Offer 50 Tracks for Download

from the it's-a-start dept

Sony is apparently finally willing to test the digital music waters by allowing 50 music tracks for download. However, I’m not sure it’s going to be that useful, as they’re charging $2.50 per song (which is a bit expensive) and they’re using a special format which they believe to be secure – and which won’t work everywhere. Of course, when this fails, the question is whether or not they’ll realize they were being silly about how they did it, or if they’ll just write off the whole online music world.
