High Schools Blocking Free Email Services

from the no-more-hotmail dept

Apparently, many high schools are starting to block access to free email services from their students. There are a number of reasons for this: the schools are afraid it’s tying up too many school resources, they find it harder to use email to keep in touch with their students (they’d prefer students just use school provided addresses), and apparently some students have used it to send threatening anonymous messages. Of course, if there’s anyone who can figure out ways around blocks, I’m sure it’s the students.
