Baan Bought

Apparently there is going to be an announcement Wednesday saying that struggling software maker Baan has been purchased by UK based Invensys. It’s not clear if this is a good thing, though everyone knew Baan was for sale. I’m not sure why a company like Invensys wants to go through the process of trying to integrate and revive Baan. I’m also not sure that Invensys would even know what to do with a Baan. It will be interesting to see if this is one of those stories that people talk about in a few years as a ridiculous merger that never worked out.
