Another Web Bank

from the try-try-again dept

A lot of people consider Wingspan Bank to be something of a failure. So, it’s a bit of a surprise to see the guy behind it already off starting a new online bank. Apparently, he thinks Wingspan was a success, but was too shackled to Bank One. Most people seem to think he’s crazy, but he sounds like he’s out to prove something.

Re: wingspan a failure?

I don’t know if you have it in the US, but in Canada we have ING Direct. They started as a phone-only bank (backed by the ING bank of Holland) and have added internet access in the last year. I’ve never had a problem with them(my main criteria), and they are currently paying 5% interest on a savings account, compared to the 0.1% the regular banks pay.
