The Internet is Shaped Like a Bow Tie

from the well,-of-course-it-is... dept

Some researchers have discovered that the internet is a bit divided. In trying to create a topology, they discovered that the internet is shaped like a bow tie with a core set of sites that are all linked to each other, making it easy to surf from one site to another. Following this, though are a ton of sites that are isolated and not connected to very many other sites. Where on this bow tie do you think Techdirt is located? Which actually brings up the minor obsession I’ve had recently of checking out sites that link to us. It’s a bit scary, actually how many there are. It’s a little odd however, that link searches from Google, Raging, NorthernLight, and other search engines all seem to turn up different links.
