Bill Gates on the Microsoft Breakup

from the speaking-his-mind dept

Well, Time is acting as Bill Gates’ mouthpiece this week, and they allowed him to write his response to the proposed breakup plan. Reading the article I wonder if he actually thinks the world is as stupid as he seems to take us all to be. Everyone says he’s a smart guy and knows it, so maybe he really thinks the rest of the world is dumb. Almost everything he says in the article can be questioned pretty easily. For example, he says that if MS were broken up no one would ever be able to create a tablet PC. He also says that the task bar would never have been a part of Windows. So he’s saying that no one outside of Microsoft has ever created products that work with or integrate into Windows?
