AltaVista Opens Source

Here’s an article saying that AltaVista is open sourcing the code for their search engine. Reading the article for details, though, it just talks about their new affiliate program. I wonder if they just mentioned the “open source” part (without any details) in order to get the Slashdot mention and have more people go check out their new affiliate program.
