Wireless E-Commerce Heating Up

from the changing-my-mind dept

A new study is suggesting that wireless e-commerce may be getting hot. When Amazon first announced they would let people buy via their wireless devices I thought it was a little silly. If I needed to order a book that badly, I could just go to a bookstore, and get it much quicker. However, one use that is pointed out in this article makes sense to me: I recently went to a bookstore and wandered around writing down names of books that looked interesting. I went home and then researched those books online and made the order that way. I could see why doing this straight from the store might be valuable. Then again, if you were Barnes and Noble, why wouldn’t you just put kiosks in the store that let people look up bn.com from right there?
