Ad Supported Eudora
from the new-business-models dept
Qualcomm, who makes the popular Eudora email program (and, no, I’ve never understood how this fits in with the rest of their business), has decided to do away with the free “light” version of their program and instead offer a free full featured version – that will show ads while being used. It makes some sense to do so, but I’m still not sure how it will work. It probably depends on how intrusive the ads seem.

efax does this fairly unobtrusively with their client — or should I say ineffectively. Item for your next survey: when was the last time you clicked on a banner? What was it for?
