AOL Makes Users Reiterate No Spam Requests

from the stupid-marketing-policies dept

Okay, this one shows just how ridiculous AOL has gotten. They are now telling folks who “opted-out” of receiving any spam that their preferences are expiring, and they have to reiterate the fact that they don’t want spam or they’ll be considered fair game. Beyond the fact that they had to force an “opt-out” policy rather than an “opt-in” policy, this is just plain silly. If people tell them they don’t want spam, why do they have to reiterate that fact every year?
