The CEO of Wingspan.com has announced his resignation at the end of the year. Wingspan.com is an off-shoot of BankOne, and is a totally “online” bank. The article points out that BankOne took a different tact than the likes of Wells Fargo and BofA by creating an entire new brand for online banking. This was their mistake as far as I’m concerned. I haven’t spoken to a teller in years, but I love the fact that if I need to, a Wells Fargo branch is right around the corner. The online only banks can’t compete with that.
