Holiday Season Might Not Boost eCommerce Stocks

from the trying-to-predict-the-market dept

Opinion piece in the Industry Standard says that we shouldn’t necessarily expect holiday e-commerce spending to boost internet stocks. The theory seems to be that these companies have had enough time to show us something, and to move towards profitability, and investor patience is wearing thin. I’m not sure this is completely true. I imagine they’ll be some bounce. I do wonder if some folks will be reluctant to invest until after the new year, to see what effect (if any) Y2K has.
