Domain Name Spying

from the political-espionage dept

It amazes me how folks spy on each other these days using the Internet. I’ve certainly poked around at domain names owned by companies to get an idea of what they’re doing, but now it seems like a strategy for reporters to find stories. The latest is Wired looking at domains registered by Presidential hopeful Steve Forbes showing a large number of domains suggesting his running mate will be Jeb Bush, brother of the Republican front runner. And now, everyone has to wonder. Soon folks are going to start registering domain names simply to throw others off their track.
